Why don't you own a camellia? Research carefully so that you get a hardy one.

Camellia sasanquas are finishing up here and Camellia japonicas are just getting started. The one in your photo has foliage like some of mine that need attention. Foliage should be dark green and shiny.

They like cold, but a freeze will turn open blossoms brown. Tight buds on the hardy ones can stand temps down to the teens.

Oh, yes, they have no fragrance. None. Just beauty.
